Narberth

The current town is located on a parcel of land that was originally deeded to Edward Rees who arrived in 1682.  In 1881 a 100-acre portion of that land was owned by Edward R. Price who founded a Quaker-friendly town named Elm.  Elm became Narberth in 1895.

Narberth is named after Narberth, Pembrokeshire, Wales.  The town of Narberth is a borough surrounded by Lower Merion Township.  Narberth is now a suburban community with a thriving commercial district.
