Ron Bellamy, a former member of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, brought his unique insights on nuclear power, radiation measurement and improved technology that can minimize the risk of a power station meltdown in existing plants, and a complete containment of radiation risk in future atomic power reactors. We made him promise to return in the Fall with more information. Bellamy oversaw de-commissioning of the Three-Mile Island nuclear reactor near Harrisburg after TMI-2 suffered a partial meltdown on March 28, 1979.
